Discipling in Generosity and Faithfulness: Christian Stewardship Network

Heather Day, Generous Giving
When it comes to money, the Bible has a lot to say. In fact, more than 2,000 verses and roughly 15 percent of all of Jesus’s recorded words have something to do with possessions, generosity, and wealth.
Yet many pastors and faith leaders still struggle with how to tackle financial topics in their churches, whether it’s because they lack confidence, resources, training, or support. It’s for this reason that the Christian Stewardship Network (CSN) exists.
“We believe stewardship is about shaping hearts, forming faithful disciples, and helping people understand that every area of life belongs to God,” CSN explains through their materials. “When church leaders are equipped with a biblical framework for stewardship, they are better able to lead with confidence, teach with clarity, and disciple their congregations more faithfully.”
This biblical approach to generosity and stewardship has created natural opportunities for CSN and Generous Giving to collaborate. This includes joint efforts to educate and resource Christian leaders at CSN’s Annual Forum, most recently held in Dallas, Texas, March 2-4, 2026.
During this year’s worship-filled three-day gathering, Generous Giving leaders had numerous opportunities to pour into the lives of pastors and church leaders.
- Kirsten Schwartz and Ryan Zeulner led a breakout session titled “Unlocking Generosity: How Meaningful Conversations Transform Your Church.”
- Ryan Zeulner also led a workshop in the executive pastor track called “The Missing Ingredient in Church.”
- From the mainstage, Greg Baumer, chair of Generous Giving’s board, provided biblical leadership insights to guide God’s people toward spiritual freedom.
“I was struck by the amazing community of pastors, staff, and individuals who love biblical stewardship!” said Ryan Zeulner about his experience as a first-time attender and presenter for CSN’s Annual Forum.
He and all who participated look forward to future opportunities like this to equip church leaders for discipling their people in generosity and faithfulness.
“As Christ followers, it is essential to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased,” he explains. “Sharing is the missing ingredient of our worship.”
