Discover a Joy Unexpected

We share the message of generosity because it changes everything—our lives, our relationships, and the world around us. Generosity is not about obligation; it’s about joy.

When we take time away to listen to God, He shapes our hearts—guiding our priorities and clarifying our purpose.

A Journey of Generosity (JOG) is a one or two-day retreat designed to explore biblical generosity.

We create a conversational experience that includes Scripture, teaching, and inspirational stories led by a trained facilitator. This retreat is an opportunity to focus on the joy of generosity in a pressure-free environment.

It’s important you know:

  1. We will not ask you for money

We create safe and inspiring environments for people to talk about generosity without any concern there will be an appeal for funds.

  2. We will never tell you where to give

We are all on a journey together to discover God’s desire for our lives related to generosity. We do not presume to know where God is calling you to invest your time, talent, or treasure. A Journey of Generosity is personal, and we are here to support you.

  3. We invite you to discover the joy of giving

We believe generosity is a spiritual practice—a way of living that God uses to shape our hearts. Experience the joy of the life that is truly life.

We are thrilled for you to experience the joy of hosting a JOG. To get started, we recommend selecting a date, and allowing yourself about 6-8 weeks to invite guests.

Next, you will want to confirm your venue. We have seen JOGs hosted in homes, vacation rentals, boardrooms, Zoom calls, and more!

Consider extending an invitation to friends, your church small group, neighbors, board members, co-workers, or extended family. The safe and pressure-free setting created at a Journey of Generosity retreat builds community and deepens connection.

The Journey of Generosity retreat schedule is flexible. We recommend the following formats:

  • Two-Day (or more) Getaway – Guests stay overnight at a venue together. We recommend 7 hours of gathering time the first day and 4 hours on the second day.
  • Two-Day Local Retreat –  Guests gather at the JOG venue but return to their homes for the night. The recommended schedule is the same as the Two-Day Getaway.
  • One-Day Retreat – We recommend about 8 hours of gathering time.
  • Online Retreat – We recommend about 6 hours of gathering time.

Next to the day of our salvation, the overnight experience at the Journey of Generosity was the single greatest change to our understanding of our relationship with Christ and what that means for the rest of our lives. It has caused us to completely rethink everything about how we were defining success, what we were aiming at, and how we were thinking about things as a family.

This experience will totally change any preconceptions that you have about giving and give you a vision for the potential of the Church.

I certainly came away with more imagination for what courageous generosity can look like—now and over a lifetime.

Prior to experiencing a Journey of Generosity  myself, I had not been a part of a healthy, biblical conversation around being generous. So it was an honor to facilitate the conversation and pray together for God’s leading in our lives to be more like Him.

No matter how many Journey of Generosity retreats I am a part of, God continues to speak specifically to me. God is so specific and intimate with each individual in the experience.

I felt very encouraged by this group and how they really focused on their hearts, exploring unique ways to utilize finances and their current non-financial resources. They felt a level of anxiety and pressure release after having these conversations and readings.
